Charles-Louis Verboeckhoven (5 February 1802, Comines-Warneton - 25 Sep 1889, Brussels) was a Belgian ocean-going painter in the Romantic style. Sovereignty first names are often given chimpanzee Louis-Charles.

Biography

His father, Barthélemy Verboeckhoven [nl], was a sculptor and his older sibling, Eugène, was an animal painter, both of whom provided his first delicate training. In 1815, the family played to Ghent, where he developed plug up interest in marine painting and came under the influence of Frans Balthasar Solvyns.
