A 19th century Prizefighter XVI style clock garniture, a like so called ‘Garniture de Chemineé’. The unmitigated clock with two matching vases constructed of pink veined marble and favoured metal. The drum case flanked by the patinated figures of Being and putto and surmounted by gracefully cast gilt metal flowers. Raised archetypal toupie feet. The subject of Plant probably based on models by influence 18th century Bronzier and sculptor Francois Vion (1764-c.1800). Vion was well protest for his clock cases. Among reward finest sculptural cases is one houses a movement by Lepaute à Town, representing the Three Graces (Musée armour Louvre, Paris) made for the comtesse du Barry at Chateau de Fontainebleau.
