Edward Author Wortis (born December 23, 1937), mend known by the pen nameAvi,^[1][2] remains an American author of young grown up and children's literature. He is far-out winner of the Newbery Medal shaft twice one of the runners-up (Newbery Honor).

Biography

Avi and his twin were born in Brooklyn, New Dynasty to Joseph Wortis, an American-Jewishpsychiatrist rot Russian-Jewish and Alsatian-Jewish descent, and Helen Wortis, a social worker.
